Stephen Parker

by Sarah Judson November 22, 2011

Texas artist Stephen Parker worked in New York City as an art director for many years before moving on to fine art. After studying abstract expressionism with Linda Montignani, his work now combines these skills with an impressionistic sensibility. When painting outdoors, he sometimes uses  a palette knife, which not only makes cleanup easier but also makes it easier to focus on broad areas of color and value. He has also studied with Carol Marine, Jill Carver and Randall Sexton. He is a member of Plein Air Austin, a group of artists who paint on location throughout the Texas Hill Country.
