About Us

Judsons Art Outfitters has been supplying Plein Air artists with the tools they need to get out and paint since 1987. *Hey, that's thirty-five years!* We understand the joys and frustrations of plein air and try our best to provide the right tools and the help you need to fulfill your artistic vision.

We’d like to see plein air painting restored to its traditional place as a worthwhile endeavor for anyone, regardless of artistic "talent” or ambition. An outdoor sport, if you will …something a little bit challenging that will take you away from the mundane and into the moment.

Meet Our Staff: 

	Carl paints plein air in oils and acrylics and he is the original "Guerrilla Painter." View a sample of his work at his site: www.carljudson.com or check out one of his five Guerrilla Painter's Notebooks. He can often be found on the road painting and talking to people.
	Sarah is the person you will usually talk to when you call us. She is always glad to help if you have any questions about our products or plein air painting. She paints in watercolor and has a BFA from Colorado State University.
	April is our accountant. Her artistic abilities lean toward music, as she plays the harp, violin, piano, recorder, and English hand bells. She also enjoys cooking and reading.
	Becky is our in-house manufacturer and makes a number of our products. She loves creating works of art with a variety of textiles, yarns, threads and recycled plastic.
	Nina works in the warehouse, and helps out with a wide range of projects including graphic design and helping Sarah with customer service. When life isn't too hectic, she's an urban sketcher.
	Mia helps Nina out in the warehouse. In her spare time, she cares for ducks, makes music, and loves tending to growing things.
	Susan is our warehouse manager. When she is not packing and shipping orders, she makes jewelry, restores/ refurbishes/ repurposes furniture, and dabbles in woodworking.
	Arthur paints with oils and soft pastel. He took up plein air painting at the tender age of 14.
