Anne Blair Brown

by Sarah Judson October 02, 2011

Tennessee painter Ann Blair Brown paints both plein air and in studio, including figures, interiors, architecture and landscapes. She is a former chef, so the lights and shadows in restaurant scenes and sidewalk cafes are a frequent subject. She is a member of Oil Painters of America,  the American Impressionist Society, Plein Air Painters of the Southeast and the Chestnut Group, an organization of artists who promote the preservation of landscapes and historic structures. Current exhibits of her work include the Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional Juried Exhibition, through October 15 in Orleans, Massachusetts, and the upcoming American Impressionist Society 12th Annual National Juried Exhibition opening October 15 in Carmel, California. Early next year she will be offering two workshops, a plein air workshop in Pontonoc, Mississippi, and a combination plein air/studio workshop in Wimberley, Texas.
