Christine Debrosky

by Sarah Judson June 13, 2011

"My work is to celebrate simple beauty; sunlight dancing across the commonplace." Award-winning contemporary Impressionist Christine Debrosky works in both oil and pastel, outdoors and in the studio. She has studied with Wolf Kahn and Albert Handell. She recently moved from the Hudson River area to Arizona, with its dazzling sun, rich shadows and changeable weather. She also enjoys traveling and teaching overseas, exploring foreign landscapes, waterways, archetecture, orchards, gardens and cityscapes. She has earned signature staus with AWA, the Pastel Society of America, and the Pastel Society of the West Coast, "Distinguished Pastellist". She is on the faculty of the Woodstock School of Art, in the rustic Catskill Mountains. She will teach a plein air workshop there this summer, July 26-29 for both oil and pastel artists.
