Trent Gudmundson

We enjoyed a conversation recently with artist
Trent Gudmundson, who won a $200 Judsons gift certificate in the inaugural
Plein Air Magazine bi-monthly contest.
He comes from an artistic family and began painting outdoors at an early age:
"Being surrounded by art helped me develop an awareness of it at a young age. Because of this, I never questioned whether being an artist was a legitimate career choice. Everyone is born with certain talents that they can choose to improve or throw away. When I was around 10 years old, I chose to be an artist."
Most of his paintings, whether landscapes or interiors, contain figures. His confident, painterly brushwork and light-inspired compositions have been winning awards and press coverage for more than a decade. He is represented by six galleries and has ten exhibits listed for this year.
