Ginger Whellock
Ginger Whellock paints all around the western states, with a special affinity for water, her "biggest challenge and greatest sense of satisfaction." Shown above is Fall River on the Rocks, a 9"x12" plein air oil done in Rocky Mountain National Park. She also paints large (24"x30") studio paintings (below, Lazy Afternoon) using plein air studies along with photos and "a rich emotional memory."
Her blog contains thoughts about the why and how of painting, getting organized, teaching and being in the zone. She has three events coming up this fall: Arts at Denver's annual landscape show, Art for the Sangres, an invitational benefit for the San Isabel Land Protection Trust, and her annual Studio Open House on October 10th from 4-10 p.m.
